I have a 2003 CBR 600RR and It seems to leak out of a blow by tube. Not sure if it is gas or oil or both? It usually drips a few drops as it is parked. It will alway be on the lower Fairing. Anyone know whats up? Thanks

 

Is it on the lower fairing by the kickstand? If so my F4i does the same thing but I think it may actually be chain lube that flings off under the countershaft sprocket cover and then drips out. Pull the cover off and clean it out, mine had a ton of crud on it. If this is it you might want to try a different chain lube, or how you apply it.

 

Thanks for the Info. I did clean all of the chain grease of the sprocket cover. There was a build up of alittle chain lube in that area. It still does drip out of that blow by hose. I dont know whats up. Does this happen to anyone else??? I didnt seem like it did it at all when I first bought it. I have got about 10000 miles on it. It runs great even though it drips. Just tired of wipping it off the rim and the lower faring.

 

mine has an occasional drop also i dont think its a big deal, those hoses are meant for something and i suppose thei workin if they drip everyonce in awhile i would worry if it gets to be a puddle. it could be gas i think or antifreeze maybe out of the overflow. dont wry man.

 

both of those hoses are from the gas tank one is a breather and the other is overflow, if your bike is a cali it has a 3rd hose that comes from the evap can

none of these should really be leaking unless you fill your gas tank pretty close to the top, of course sloshing could cause a few occasional drops which may be what your seeing

 

im in illinois and my bike has 3 hoses.

oh yeah I forgot the coolant overflow hose, that also should not leak

 

well thats prolly right but there, there for some reason if they werent worried about the occasional need to get the lil extra out they wouldnt of put em there u no what i mean, im not tryin to sound like an a** even though when i read my post sounds kinda like i am but anyways theres no need to wry unless its excessive, are you doin wheelies or anything that would slosh the gas around pretty good? how hot is ur bike gettin? have u smelt it?
