Default oil

Can someone tell me if synthetic oil is better to use, and how often the oil would need to be changed if I used it? Thanks a lot!

Default RE: oil

Hi there

Better oil than what, mineral oil? Yep definitely. I ride a 1993 900RR so I need my oil to be a bit thicker so I go for a semi-synthetic. Fully synthetic works better on new highly tuned engines. I dont keep tabs on the mileage cuz I check my oil regularly and when it becomes too dark for my liking I change it, but if I have to give a number I think it will be round about 8000km (+-5000miles), but I could be wrong.

Amsoil has great fully senthetic oils made specifically for motorcycles that have no friction modifiers in them and are compatible with wet clutches.
