Default oil

Changed my oil over the weekend. Took less than 45 minutes. Spilled a little oil on the fron tire about a 2 inch wide by 6 inch long patch after I tried to rub the oil off (after seeing it spread on the tire (explative, explative!!) I started dabbing at it). I know it's slippery... is this a problem.. Will it wear off after some miles or should i do something else. Of course next time I'll be more careful.

i`d advise you wash it off before you take it out for a ride will only take a few minutes and worth saving a slip.

Or just be really careful for about the first 20 miles then it should be gone. Treat it like a new tire and be nice to it for 50 miles.

Pop a wheelie and ride it out for about a mile so that the front tire stops spinning... then when you bring the front end back down the front tire will squeel and burn off all that oil Haha... just another option.

Thansks guys. I wiped it off with some alcohol and I'm taking it easy on the tire the next 50.

Thanks Riptor [:-] Would have tried that... but oh well.

haha yeah I was going to say poor some bleach on em and burn it off like the good ol boys do... but sure you can clean it if you want. In all seriousness, the guy with the "treat it like a new tire" is a safe bet.

Whenever you get lubes on your tires, you should use any type of lube cleaner...Castrol Super Clean, Gunk, etc.

No joke, Dawn brand liquid dish washing soap. It's designed to breakup oil - works wonders in those situatuion. And... it's cheap.

Cheers
