Hello Everyone!

Just got a 1995 CBR 900 Fireblade the bike is in mint condition... it rides smooth everything is nice the only thing that does not work is the RPM guage. I was wondering if this is a common problem with this bike? and how can I fix it? Please help me out... I got the bike with an aftermarket full exhaust on it and cannot tell what RPM i'm at by hearing it. All I know is that when its loud, I'm going fast! Please help!

I don't have a 900 so I am not familiar with that bike but my first suggestion would be to get a manual with a wiring diagram and follow the wire that controls the tach and make sure all the connections are secure.

+1

Get a service manual (this will be invaluable down the road anyhow) and go through the wiring. Look for bad grounds and frayed wires that might cause a short in particular. Also check your fuses, though I doubt you have a fuse that would blow that would only cut out your tach.
