Default Kawasaki EN 500 fail!

Well, my buddy forgot a very important step yesterday when he was changing his spark plugs. He has a Vulcan 500. For those who don't know anything about this motor, the plugs are in a recess on the motor. This area generally collects dust, sand, rock, bugs, water, and anything else. Well my friend forgot to blow out this area before removing the plugs and, all of that and more ended up in his motor. Thank god he didn't start it but, I got to remove his motor and take the head off of it today.

Ack. I've seen some Honda express cylinders that look like that, but they were running.
