Ignition switch

Hello I am from PNWR site and I thought I would ask my question here......well this morning I found that someone tried to steal my bike it had been moved and the ignition switch wires had been cut. Tonight I rewired the ignition switch since the 4 wires are color coded once done turned the key and nothing the instrument pannel wont turn on. So I checked the basics the fuses under the seat and the bat which is at 13.1V. I have also read on onother forum the ignition switch has a resister and the ECU needs to see the correct voltage. My question where do I go from here new switch? fried ECU? what am I doing wrong here. any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advanced
