idle problems
My seems to be idling roughly. Heres the backstory:
I own an 88 cbr600f hurricane. I crashed it a few weeks ago, and afterwards it idled at very low rpms. I got it home, and adjusted the idle screw to get the idle around 1500rpms. Even though I got the idle adjusted, the engine cant seem to hold a steady rpm. The needle on the tach fluctuates. And sometimes even dips below 1500 and rises back up after i give it some throttle. This is my first bike, and very new to maintenence. What should I do to get my bike to idle at a steady rpm? What should I check, and what maintenence would be required. Any help would be appreciated. |
RE: idle problems
well if you crashed you must expect that some damage was done to the bike. start by getting a service manual and check your fuel system (carbs, airbox, fuel lines etc) if you adjusted the idle screw and it died again then something must be wrong.
