IAT sensor
i recently bought a performance chip for my 2001 f4i and am having trouble finding the iat sensor. i thought it was on the top of the air box, but after taking voltage readings according to the directions with the chip, i appear to be wrong. any help?

RE: IAT sensor
There is no "performance chip " for our bikes.WHat you got is a resistor that "fools" the ecu into thinking it is cooler than it actually is.In turn adding more fuel/spark..Its a hack at best.

Same thing people do with the oxygen sensors on cars, either when they have none or they have no cats. Changes the A/F ratio as well as keeps the check engine light from coming on But yes, to answer your question, the IAT sensor is that little 2 wire gray plug, top center of the airbox |
RE: IAT sensor
No dont listen to these people. they do not know what they are talking about. Install that "performance chip." black smoke from the exhaust means you are making a lot of power.

RE: IAT sensor
alright, thats what i was thinking. a "performance chip" sounds better than a resistor, which i know thats all it is, but the thing was 30 bucks so i figured what the hell? i had one on my camaro and i actually felt a difference. well another q' on the sensor, there is a green and a purple wire, which one is the signal? purple?

RE: IAT sensor
I was being sarcastic. If you think that the chip is going to give you Hp, please send me the bike before you hurt it anymore.
