I keep snapping mirrors, can these we fixed? Its getin expensive
Hey guys, it seems that when the bike goes down the mirrors just snap off. Bike goes down at slow speeds, no damage to the bike (light scrapes on the fairings) but damn mirros just snap off
The snap is so clean, if i put the 2 pieces together it fits perfectly. I tried to super glue them (i did) (guerilla glue) but it dont hold.
The material looks like its metallic, maybe aluminum. These are cheapies you get from ebay, $40 a pair but still, its getting ridiculous. Maybe i just suck at riding but does anybody know if you can fix these things. Some sort of super , super glue? How about welding.
What do you think, thanx guys.

ORIGINAL: Muz
maybe try putting your foot down when you stop at lights ect. if breaking mirrors is a regular problem for you

Sliders will help you out here, but really, how often are you dropping it?
Forgot to answer your question... not repairable. You'll have to replace them everytime.

Super glue won't work. They are aluminum, try a welding shop. A buddy of mine is a welder and he welded another guys mirror.
How about this for a dumb idea. Buy new mirrors, get a hack saw, cut each one halfway through right in the middle of the stem. Next time you fall, it'll snap at the fracture point.
From there thread both ends, get a nylon coupler (maybe even pvc) and reattach your two parts together.
How about another dumb idea, loosen the nuts so they bent back when you fall.
Get nylon/zytel bolts that go into the fairing, they will pull out when you fall.
How about taking them off completely, mine are almost completely useless anyway.
Get a stunt cage before you break off your clutch/brake lever.
If you keep falling, sooner or later you are gonna break something more expensive then a mirror like your ankle, wrist, leg.....
Everybody falls, but some of us are not really cut out to ride bikes well, some aren't cut out to ride them at all, you gotta figure that out before you get really hurt.

Seriously, if you are falling that much, park the bike. If you haven't done it yet, take a MSF class. That will be much less expensive in the long run & it may save your life one day. Plus it will help teach you how to not drop the bike as much.
