I have an idea, any Android developers on here?
 

The interface and software for the PC3 gave me this idea one day.

The desired end result (for a 954; other models may require a different setup):
-7" Samsung Galaxy tablet mounted over the tach and speedo
-tablet would ideally have an engine monitoring* app installed on it, much like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...l.torque&hl=en but for bikes. I'm not sure but I don't think fuel injected bikes have an OBD II interface.
As you can see, that app is very robust and scaleable. The reason the tablet could go over the existing cluster is that you could create an Android widget for pretty much any gauge you want.
-rear mounted, facing and recordable camera, where the viewfinder can also be added as a widget on another Android app.

Does anyone know if there already exists an app out there like that, which would be compatible with the Android tablets? You could probably link it to a smart phone as well, but you would have much smaller gauges or only be able to show one at a time. Or if the cluster area is big enough, mount a 10" tablet in there.
I'll probably go to the Android devs website and see if one of them would be willing to take on the project of writing an app like that for a bike system.



*This looks to be for engine monitoring only, which is all I would need. However, this could possibly be used as an engine management app as well, i.e. link it to a PC3. It would allow for making quicker engine ECU settings adjustments.

Your problem is telemetry - as you say, motorcycles don't have ODBC ports. You need something like the https://www.obdstar.com/Products_412.html which has a ODO screen, and has all the various hookup cables,

Or Topdon motorcycle - again has all the hookups but in this case no built in display.

Don't forget that most, if not all standard android tablets are not sunlight readable, and many are not weather proof either.

If you are serious, I would start with https://ghostdashboard.com/ and see if there's an opportunity to collaborate on a motorycle equivalent - they made the interesting observation that ODBC2 is too laggy for real time display..
