while I'm not 100 percent sure on that model, most models will have a button marked reset. Just press it and hold it pressed in until it resets. Usually about 3 seconds.

You are not able to reset the odometer. That illegal as you are tempering with ODOMETER.
You can ask dealership to do it if you replaced the broken one. They will probably charge you. You can also try Bluegauges.com - Mileage Correction

If it is like the 08 1000rr it has two buttons on the left of the display. The upper one cycles through the total mileage, trip meter 'A' and trip meter 'B' when you tap it. To reset either trip meter 'A' or 'B' cycle through until that one shows and then press the button for 5 seconds and it will return to zero.

Thanks I must have not been holding button long enough.

The trip meter is what I am trying to reset,to keep up with fuel.

Also, the lower button will cycle through some things such as current MPG, average MPG since it was last reset, how many gallons you've used and a few other things. I've found on mine that the average MPG calculation is very accurate when I compare it to calculating it on my own.

To get back to the trip display just press the upper button.

Still no luck

I can cycle through odo, trip a, trip b

Get it on trip a, hold top button down for a long time,It still will not reset.

I may need to break down and order owners manual

Try pressing both buttons at the same time and see if that does it. Does the trip 'B' reset when you press and hold the top button whenever it is displayed?

once you get to trip a or b, you need to hold in the "reset" button which is located on the bottom for more than 2 sec
