the specialty tool. I'm working on an f2 and can't find a "Clutch center holder" anywhere to hold it so I can take off the lug nut.

you don't need that if your just replacing the disks. i think you only need that when you want to take the basket and **** off. so if thats waht your doing you'll need one. probably can get one at a honda dealer

i'm changing my clutch out later today. its a 900 but it should be basically the same. i'll let you know what tools i used.

You can strategically position two large screwdrivers to hold the basket but you gotta put them where they will not slip and mess anything up. The basket holder tool is a little piece of heaven.

You can use a piece of soft metal. In the past when I didn't have a holder tool, I've substituted a piece of 1/16" aluminum and on another occasion a tape-on wheel weight (lead). Place it between the clutch basket splines and the crankshaft splines where they come together, like the cartoons where they throw a wrench in the giant sprockets of a clock tower or something. Make sure you use a soft metal so you don't damage the splines! This will hold the clutch basket from moving so you can properly torque the clutch center hub nut (don't forget to stake it again). As for removal, I always just use an impact wrench - 1/2 in. variety.
