Honda toolkit
 

hi, can anyone tell me if i am supposed to get a toolkit with my new honda motorcycle. I bought a new 2006 F4i three months ago and i didn´t get any toolkit with it.
I started asking around and some friends told me that i should always get the toolkit and others told me that i couldn't count on getting the toolkit....

Im pretty sure if its brand new that you are supposed to get a tool kit. Hell my 02 had a tool kit and I bought it in 04

Al Hondas brand new come with basic tools ie:- plug spanner, rear shocker 'C' spanner, reversable screwdriver, pliers, few wrenches one for the rear wheel which bearly does the job, oh yeah and a fuse puller too..

Ive heard from people that Honda quit giving away toolkits with the 06 bikes. Some people with 600rrs have gotten them and some havent so Im guessing Honda just put toolkits in the 06 bikes until their supply ran out and now they no longer offer the kits.

i heard of people with RR's that didn't get much of a toolkit. i didn't know it was for the f4i also but i could see that happening too. i think they sell toolkits on ron ayers but it's not that cheap. you could live w/o it or build your own.

I bought a 600RR in June, & I didnt get one!!! But I have tools out the a$$ so, it didnt matter

You haven't lost much by not getting one, I think they make the tools out of the metal shavings left over on the factory floor, but at least their consistant throughout, same with other Jap bike makers.
To state the bleeding obvious, have you looked under the seat? Maybe they just forgot to include it when they handed over the bike?
The tool kit is woefull, but better than nothing if your miles from anywhere. Plus you will need the Spark plug tool if your going to check your plugs. I'v looked everywhere but have not been able to find a half decent replacement
I'd be phoning the Distributer and having a major whinge. To not supply even the most basic of tool, that would enable you to change a tyre is pretty slack, even the cheapist car manufacturer gives you that.
On that subject, ever tried to take off the rear wheel nut with the Honda tool kit, nearly cut the bolt in half before it started to turn, wot a piece of crap.
Oh, and if you don't get any satisfaction from the distributer, you could probably pick up a cheapie at a bike wreckers.

thanks for all the replys. I guess i just have to talk to the distributor and try to get something out of him. My main concern was the spark plug tool ;)
