Please do let us know! It's rare now-adays that someone still wants to work on their own bike, let alone gets excited about it! RIGHT ON! about the engine, uh.... Well, I don't want to shoot you down, but I think you may wanna just let it go... My engine had a small knock. At certain times, you didn't hear ANYTHING, just a great running mill. But every now and then, knock knock knock. So anyway, I figured I'd tear it down to be on the safe side, and Whaddya know. It went from a hero to zero instantly, with absolutely NO CHANCE of rebuilding the case, and maybe 300 bucks to fix the crank that was only 4 thou out on the worst journal. I'm thinking I'll make a footstool, or outdoor coffee table out of mine-

Glad to hear the bike will be coming together soon! I'm picking up my engine in two days, so it's some GOOD TIMES right about now!

update-
got the engine yesterday. Its in the bike, just gotta tighten some thing up with a Torque wrench. got the swing arm and spring together, hoping to have it all done by tonight! Just need to find a way to get that damn 24mm rod tightened......

 

Started the bike today! everything looks good so far. Thinking tho it needs a cam belt tightened. and chain needs to be tightened.

 

Good to hear! I'm almost there too- putting the new motor back together and hopefully running early next week-

 

hows your bike running! mines been good. just makes a clunking sound before it warms up. hear this is a normal thing with the 954's. talked with a mechanic about it. said theres no way its the valves and no way its the cam chain at 7600 miles. but it does go away after a lil riding.

 

Been running great! I just went on a 200 mi ride last weekend, and other than running just a little hotter than I remember, SHE'S BACK!!!!!
