HID Kit question - AC or DC

HID Kit question - AC or DC
Hi Guys & Gals,
I bought an HID kit online last week and when I fitted it up last week to my 2000 FY and it didn't work, the solenoid moved the headlight for the hi beam but the actual light never worked.
I checked the wiring for my headlight connection and believe everything to be correct and all the fuses were ok. I refitted the original headlight and it worked fine so I'm sure it's an issue with the HID kit...it should have just been a simple plug and play...but it's never that straight forward is it
I called the company and explained the issue and the guy I spoke with though it was a problem with the slim ballast so send another one to me which still didn't make any difference. So I called again and got asked to return the kit and they'd send me a new one out.
Now my question is about something I noticed while packing the kit back up...
On the label it was ticked for 35w, 6000k & AC....and it got me thinking if I should have had a DC kit (I'm not very technical as you've probably guessed)
What say you experts?
Thanks in Advance Baws fae Scotland

I would call the company. Its hard to say if they are reffering to voltage or not.
What is on the power supply voltage? Does it just say positive? or does it say 12v. If it says 12v, then its a 12v DC kit.
But anything is possible. Personally, I've never seen an AC voltage kit. Unless it somehow is suppose to intercept power directly from the stator before its converted to DC... I dunno. But I would certainly be making a call to the company and asking what the AC designation means.
