what is the stuff they use to write your numbers on your wind screen at the drag strip and what is the best way to get it off

the stuff the drag strip techs use wipes right off......i bought some stuff from Lowes where you get address numbers and mail boxes..wipes off with spit

its not comin off, is their any alternatives

if it is on the paint and a backyard paint job it may not come off..happened to me..if on the sheild..i dont know ...maybe some one used white shoe polish...
