So here is the deal, riding along going good... then my bike starts missing like crazy when you get on it, 4-5 grand or more under load... idles great, starts great, revs cleanly in the yard, but on the road misses.... new plugs, fuel filter, just cleaned carbs... still the same... coil bad?? are they common? everyone I talk to says no... help!!!! anyone at all?? I know... it seems to be a tough one... can you test the cdi? not sure what to do... just got done looking over all the wiring good, coil pack harness ect... looks good.....

 

#3 spark plug had a hairline crack around the porcelain... I did not find it until I tossed a set of plugs in it just for the hell of it... it ran good, so I came back to the shop and looked at them- you can BARELY see it....

 

IM havin the exact same issue
it started yesterday when I let the gas get low
so i thought mayeb some trash got in the carbs
I took off the tank and fairings and found that the 99 f4 is a lot harder to get carbs off than the 96 f3 hahahaha

needless to say I just put it all back and said heck with it

 

yeah, it is kind of a pain in the ***...
