Default Help ctc

Hi newbie here so firstly thanks for letting me join, i have a cbr 600f 1997 and had the dreaded chain rattle, i bought an ape mcct but when i removed the stock one and tried to replace it with rhe ape one it was the wrong size, i put the stock one back in and when i started the bike was only for like a second the noise was really bad, i removed the cct again and was only then i noticed that the whole thing had infact failed.. ive ordered one from honda but question is could there be damage done?

Did you reset the tensioner before you put it back in? If it was locked fully extended, the chain gets forced way too tight and things can get damaged.

no unknown to me as not that clued up it was well and truly ****ed, it wasn’t extended at all, Infact my mate said I was lucky I wasn’t riding it at the time
