fuel system shot!!!!

Am I right in saying your F3 is a carburettor model? If so, then after switching the petrol on and waiting for a couple of minutes, switch it off again, drop the float bowls on the carbs and check to see if the levels are pretty much the same. If there is a big discrepancy then you may have to adjust the float heights so they are the same so that an equal amount of fuel fills the bowls. Also check all fuel lines for kinks or holes. Look for any fuel dripping onto the floor suggesting a leak somewhere. Hope you sort it, but post again if no results after doing the above?

The plot thickens
so firstly thanks for the advice but after starting to check over what you suggested I remembered reading a thread on here about fuel pump switches giving up the ghost so I took the cap of the fuel pump to see what the switch was up to. So here's what I cant work out. The fuel tap was positioned off and the fuel switch was tapping away like a tap dancer on cocaine!!!! so I thought cool, something to scrub off the list. Then while the bike was still running I switched the fuel tap to the on position and the fuel switch cut out and just started working intermittently and with no rhythm. So then switched it off again and after a few seconds it was tapping away like mad again. Confused.com...................any ideas??
