Hey guys on my last ride my bike [08 cbr1000rr] developed a consistent knock, (almost sounds like a bottom end knock) iv since discovered that I need to change out my oil pump chain as it's crazy loose! However today I removed the oil sump to see if there may be any play on any of the parts, once having removed the sump I found these pieces of metal that the oil filter had sucked up... it almost looks like a shim if not thin washer.. the Pieces are really smooth on one side with a bit of a groove on the other side.
Does anyone have any idea as to where these have possibly come from???

 

Hmm, have no idea. Are they ferrous (magnet sticks to it) or aluminum alloy? Might point in one direction or another.

 

A mate was saying it could be a bearing case??

 

Yea, could be. It's probably a good idea to find out what it is for sure.
