Default Flames!!!

Out riding with some buddies today and one of them said he saw some flames come out of my exhaust when I was hard on the throttle. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Thanks..

That would be running really rich and for a new 05 CBR1000 .... I'm not sure that's normal. What mods do you have?

Wouldn`t have to be that rich, with the P.A.I.R secondry air intake on the 1000rr bringing fresh air into the exhaust to burn unburnt fuel off(that`d be all the pops you hear on the down shift) hard on the gas i`d expect some detonation. Shouldn`t be anything big though.

Just Two Brothers slip on and the flapper mode. Maybe I was decel and then back on the gas hard and had some fuel/gases left in the exhaust maybe. Installing PCIII next week, that should fix all my problems with too rich, too lean issues shouln't it?

I am not sure about Honda but on those other makkes there are block off plates you can buy to block of the clean air intake thats foun inside the airbox. I was told by a Kawi rep this also ads a few poniesl. helped a friend complete this and made a world of a differance, No more pop or flames. If anyone has done this on a 1000 let us know. thanks
