F4i chain question

I need to get a new chain for my 2001 f4i. Ive searched all over and found varying answers as to stock chain size. Most have been 525x108 or 525x112. WHICH IS IT??? I do not want to get the wrong chain and have to go through all the crap of returning it so please help me out on this one.

I want it done right the first time. HELP!!!

The length of your chain is 108 links. It's common for the chains to be sold longer than what a specific application calls for. The manufacturers expect that you're going to cut the chain to length for the bike you're putting it on. 120 links is one of the most common lengths for the chains to be sold in.

525x108. I've been over this with MANY about it. It's definitely 525x108 stock from Honda. My suggestion though, is to grab the 112, and take off a few links. It's a lot easier to get a longer one, and knock off a few links, than getting a short one and having to add more. If you have a good chain braking tool, you'll be fine with the 112.

Just my :icon_twocents: after changing the chain on my 01 F4i and my brothers 89 Hawk GT over the weekend.

You've already rec'd accurate info above. Just be sure that the sprockets on your bike are for the 525 chain size (stock size). A very popular modification is to do a 520 conversion kit. Just FYI.

Its always a good idea to change your sprockets at the same time as your chain as well.

I always recommend Sprocket Center for chain & sprocket needs.

Good luck w/ your install.
