F4 Motor sabotaged...

RE: F4 Motor sabotaged...
Thank you all for the sound advice so far. BTW, I live in the Northwest Louisiana area. Thank you for the Ebay links as well.
I was staying at this particular family members house for a week to help him repair his rear bumper cover on his brand new car that had recently been damaged in a fender-bender accident. He's a mechanical engineer and has loads of tools to tackle almost any job. While there, we were going to replace the worn out tires on my bike with a new set of BT016 Tires. In any event, sometime while my bike was on the bikestand, minus the front wheel, we got into a verbal argument. The argument escalated, and he ordered me off his property. I wasn't sure what to do 'cause my bike was there and so were many of my clothes to stay there that week, and of course my new tires. I didn't feel like he was justified in making me leave since all my stuff (including my primary transportation) was there. I wanted my stuff, but he kept telling me to leave. Eventually he had his fiance' call the police on me. During that time, he violently yanked my bike to the ground; off the bike stand (no front wheel on mind you). This broke the upper fairing, R rearview mirror, throttle handle, amongst other things. He then took my bare front rim (the tire had already been removed) and threw it underhand (like he was lobbing a bowling ball) down the street and told me to go get it and leave. He then grabbed me and tried to throw me into the street off his front lawn, but I quickly threw him off me and he went into the street instead. The cops came and had me get everything I could put in their cruiser and brought me to their station to wait for my wife to pick me up. No I was not arrested as this a$$hole had intended... the cops were a bit pissed at him for calling them out there over an argument.
We reside an hour or so away from this location, so I sat outside the police station in front of their garage doors as ordered and waited for my wife.
The following morning, I rented a U haul trailer and had to get a police escort to enter the a$$hole's property to get my bike. That's right... my bike sat on his property in his custody the night before. Iwent to a tire shop and had the old tire put back on the rim. After installing the wheel, I went to start my bike to drive it onto the trailer. It wouldn't start. I didn't think much of it because the bike had been slammed over on its side the evening before, and I had to lay it over to put the wheel on... so maybe this was why it didn't start at that time. Once home, I wasvery [&o]and didn't want the bike anymore simply because of the memories, plus it was dinged up from the vandalism...overnight hetook a hammerand dented my gas tank, ruined my battery, bent my gear shift and brake pedals into the bike, and even stole the trunk latch that enablesmy seat to be locked.
I guess I should have expected something like this to eventually happen since he abuses amphetamines. I must say, we did have a great time racking up bunches of miles and adventures on our F4 bikes once I got mine.
He's my full-blooded younger brother (he's almost 30y/o). This is mainly why I didn't want the bike anymore... it seems I lost my brother over this sht[&o], and I cannot associate with anyone who would call the cops on me over an argument. My wife encouraged me topersue fixing my bikesince she knows it makes me . And that's when I found out the length's my brother went to destroy my bike.[:@] So that's the verycondensed version ofhow things came to be as they are now.[&o]

I'd pull the motor down - if the bike wouldn't start, you may have less damage than is apparent
(not always so, but would have been worse if the motor had run for a time)
I'd probably be in a cell right now, if someone did that to my bike.[:@][:@][:@][:@]

For sure, smaller engines can sometimes be worth doing , but a high powered engine that can be replaced at relatively low cost I think may not be worth the trouble unless you are very very keen ,and pretty darn good with engines...[:-]
Parting out the dead engine will off set the cost of the new one in any case , making it a pretty cheap exercise...

You might be in luck, as your bike lay on its side oil has poured into your cylinder head and has hydrolocked your motor, which is why it wont start. Oil doesnt compress so your valves cant open. Pull the intake off and clean it out really good along with your carbs. while the intake is off, look at the head for sand, you might have to pull it and clean it too. But I'm willing to bet nothing got into the bottom half due to the hydrolock. Anyways when you sue him add up all the costs of the cosmetic dammage too. Use new oem prices. A new upper fairing is like $500 from the stealership. So nail his ***** to the walls in court, fix your bike, get your money, put a loud exhaust on it and ride by his house revving your motor at like 3am every night. lol. Good luck bro.

I'd have to say your attorney friend or whoever he is just doesnt want to get involved. He damaged your property maliciously and willfully. A used motor from any salvage or dealer is gonna be $1000 minimum, more likely $1500-$2000. I realize you can get them cheaper from individuals but you dont use those prices when your working up a claim. He also trashed the bike when he slammed it. The fact the police came is a witness to the altercation though they probably didnt see him actually damage anything. Did you damage anything of his? You should have a case if you can find a lawyer to take the time.

Got-damn! I can't believe all the responses I've gotten... you guys are f'n awesome! Thank you!
Nauree- I have many relatives in Independence, La right around Hammond. Also, my bike is just like the one in your avatar (silver/Red).
Skoobydoobie- thanks for that info... if that's the case I may be in luck. I do have a "two brothers exhaust," which sounds louder than the stock muffler, but thename now pisses me off. My brother is usually up all night thanks to his "self medication."
Jonld-you're absolutely right about my attorney friend because not only is my brother a mechanical engineer, he can also be a very effective "social engineer." It's obvious he's f'd up on his med... its a shame because I was the last person in the family that wanted anything to do with him. He's burned his bridges with everyone else, and now me.
