F3 vs 600RR
#11
2008 600RR, was able to sit on and test ride, loved it.
1997 F3 and 2006 F4i was only able to sit on, not take out for a test ride, maybe the F3 was lowered but the F4i sat too high for my liking and seemed to have a wider seat. The F3(which had a single seat) sat perfectly with me. They were both in the showroom, right next to each other and I kept going from one to the other and the F3 just felt way more comfortable.
Since then, I've also sat on another F4i, a GSXr, and YZF600, and they sat too high/had a really wide seat.
Think I might go back to the first dealership with the 600RR and take it out again, make sure I like it, it's what I want, then search online high and low for a used one. But only because I can't find a dealership with an F3 to test ride, and like someone else said, fuel injected and newer bike, it will probably give me less hassle in the long run.

This is key. You won't have carb problems if you take car of your bike. Carb problems always arise because of improper maintenance (no fuel stabilizer, not running the bike once a week in the winter to cycle the gas out...). It's VERY easy to own a carb'd bike if you just take care of it like anything else.

Ive owned a F2 and a F4i. Gotta admit fuel injection can not be beat. It's just like the car relem. With my stang I have to always let it warm up really good on colder days or it will choke out because its carbed. Fuel injected cars you never think twice. You turn it on and your ready to go.

My wife is 5'4" and she has had 2 different bikes, a 92 Yamaha FZR 600 and currently an '06 Suzuki GSX 600F Katana. Both had lowering links but the Kat is in the stock position. It has a very comfortable seat and riding position and plenty of power for her. Don't know what all the PO done to it but its been tweaked some, comes to life around 5k RPM. I own an '01 F4i and I will tell you straight up, it AINT made for long rides! the seat will kill your butt after an extended ride! Her Katana is a totally different story, very comfy. I previously owned a '96 F3 and it was comfortable and had plenty of power, only downside of it was the regulator/rectifier and battery constantly gave me problems till I got rid of it. That's just my opinion.
