Default F2 still doing my nut in

bit more info on my none starting f3. all electrics are working( horn lights blinkers etc) but the engine wont turn over at all. if i jum across the solenoid the starter turns but nothing off the button. all i have done is cut off the connecters going up to the clocks ( theywere not connected to any thing as i run a push bike speedo on the cafe racer) anyone got any ideas? could it be the cdi? goint to solder all the clock connecters back on and see if that makes any difference and add the new clock/rev counter ebay special. any info would be great,
jeff

Make sure your battery is fully charged! I would definitely check the connections that are cut off. F3 don’t have clocks unless you did, or bought one with a gauge swap. Check your spark plugs to see if gas is reaching the cylinders.

Not sure if you're confused, so forgive me if this is already obvious to you but:

Clocks = slang for instrument cluster.

I think it's a British thing...never heard it till I got on the 'net some years ago and read about Brits doing this and that with cars and bikes.

Did you manage to get it started? Im looking at doing the same to my bike but was worried cutting the wires to the clock would trigger something in the ecm making the bike not start.
