Default exhaust is wayyyy to loud!!

So i recently bought a superhawk with 2 rs3 slip ons that are cut to 8" and hollowed out with no packing or baffles, its just 2 end caps and the sleeve, My issue is that it is obnoxiously loud so i have been looking into the low volume inserts but the woman from yoshi said they would not decrease volume without packing and baffles, but i feel it would have to at least a little, i dont mind loud pipes but the way it is is ridiculous, does anyone else have a gutted system with the inserts or any info about them?? i also have a cbr f2 with a d&d with almost no packing that sounds stock compared to this, but i would like to have it be about the same level maybe quieter.

I think packing would quiet it up a bit, I think it's a good idea anyway, because the idea is to insulate the outer shell so that you don't blow a hole in the side of it from the heat.

I didn't know there was such and animal as "too loud" for exhaust....I love mine as loud as possible.

Ask your neighbors, the police, and your girlfriend/wife how they feel about that...

maybe it's because I've grown a bit or maybe I'm just outdated now, but nothing is better to me than a "sleeper". I've never seen a porsche need obnoxious exhaust on it.

I think the woman from yosh is right. the baffles may change the tone, but without packing, your still going to get the resonance inside a hollow tube.

the other problem you have is its 1000cc twin. for most inline 4's, the muffler only has to muffle the exhaust pulse of a 250 cc chamber. On your bike, it has to muffle a 500 cc combustion chamber. The pulse from a piston twice as big is that much harder to supress.

get the packing too, it will still be silly loud...

Also. you will probably notice a gain in power. a hollow tube with end caps may be loud, but it hurts performance as the exhaust is flowing into the tube, the end cap will send half or more of the pulses back into the tube and a ton of turbulance will be created. With a straight shot with a baffle and packing, the exhaust flows right through.
