Default exhaust tip getting black?

I recently put a stock can off an R6 on my F4i which looks effin sweet by the way, but the inside lip of the pipe is getting all dark colored obviously from exhaust smoke or something. it was not dirty coming off the R6 and now the tip is starting to look like **** and I cant get it off.

Do I need to tune or adjust something so my exhaust comes out cleaner?

I put a piece of flex pipe 2'' off the down pipe directly under the oil pan and bent the flex pipe so the can comes out the side and hooks on to the right rear set. being that it is so short would that have anything to do with it?

I need it fixed and also would like a way to clean it up with out ruining the titanium cap.

thats the exact pipe and inside that bowl shape at the end is where its turning black

yes you need to get a bigger main jet for your carbs because of that new exaust you have one there

according to my haynes manual black smoke is caused by too much fuel. and brown smoke is caused by insufficient fuel. i think that you might be having insufficient fuel

Your not on a perfect tune, but a little black soot on the end of the pipe is not a terrible thing. I would rather be rich than lean. seeing that is a stock exhaust, I would assume the bike is not on the lean side, but probably the rich side. The Flex pipe surely had some sort of protective coating on it, that is probably burning off as well. It may be that.

Seeing that your bike is fuel injected, about the only thing you can do fuel related is you can get a powercommander and dyno tune your bike. You could download maps, but i doubt there is a map out there for an F4i with an R6 pipe.

Having said that. Most slip ons do not require any tune modifications, you can get better performance, but its usually not required. However, Since you put a pipe on from a different manufacturer, you may be putting too much backpressure, and making the bike run a bit rich. I believe Yamaha has a free'r flowing header than Honda, so they restrict the exhaust more with the muffler than what Honda does.

If it were me, I'd find the proper pipe for the bike, stock or aftermarket. I really don't like the idea of flexpipe connecting it all together. I can't imagine your getting a good seal throughout the exhaust.

Just for the sake of not worrying too much. My end can is black as well. But I know my bike runs rich, I still need to get a powercommander for it and have it tuned.

I have a powercommander but have never tuned it and do not have the cable to connect to the computer. I'll probably have to get one on ebay and download the maps from a site. on my spare time ill look for a new pipe. I like the look of the super short low profile pipe if anyone can give me a suggestin of what to get. I also like the high pitch raspy sound and this set up I have right now sounds really really good actually and my flex pipe is not leaking from what i can feel with my hand around the connection.

after my tune and new pipe ill be getting new spark plugs too.

Now that I really look at it after hearing brown or black, it is more on the brown side then dark black I would say. What can I do besides get a new pipe right now because I wont be able to for a couple of weeks.
