Engine not starting!
I have a 04 CBR 600 RR. It has 5k miles and has run great during this past year that I've owned it. I recently had an oil change this weekend, and it rode great on Sunday - went about 30 miles or so.
It suddenly wouldn't start on Tues morning though! The starter motor works, but the engine won't start. I re-charged the battery last night, and still have the same problem today. Its also not a flooded engine problem. Any ideas on what the problem is? |
Just a suggestion but check to see if the kill switch was accidently turned off. Yours wouldn't be the first time it has happened.

Ok i'll check it out.
Also - I just found out that my idiot friend dropped my bike on Sunday when I let him use it (have frame sliders). He said he dropped it going at idle speed. Without knowthing this, I rode it a bunch afterwards on Sunday. Does him dropping it have anything to do with it not starting now? |
Does him dropping it have anything to do with it not starting now? If you checked the killswitch on the handlebar and its good, but the bike is still not starting. We will probably need a little more info on your part. Such as: does the fuel pump prime when you turn on the key? Which side did the bike go down on? Is the bike cranking over fast as it always did, or is it slower? |
+1 to what squid said
also i know you think your engine isnt flooded but it might be worht it for you to open up your throttle all the way and crank the engine its worth a try. Dont keep the throttle wide open if she starts up tho |
Is your fuel pump priming?

I was able to start my bike last night by giving some throttle while hitting the start button. THanks for the tips. This morning I was able to start it by just pressing the start button. All set now and thanks for the help.
