So I went to go start my bike and the headlight came on, as usual, but then about 12 seconds later I heard a *buzz....buzzzzzzzzzzzzz* from up by the windscreen(headlight relay I would presume) and then the headlight won't come on. Dash lights are fine, turn signlas work, horn, everything else. I am going to try and replace that and see if that is the issue. If not, I'm pushing my bike into the Severn River, Annapolis, MD 21402.

You wrote that you have mixed regular bulbs and have leds together? Perhaps placing a resistor in series with the leds is needed. The resistor should help regulate the speed of the flashing.

The problem is with my headlight. What you are saying is that my turn signlas arre affecting my headlight?? Just trying to get clarification. I am purchasing a LED relay and "trackside" front LED bulbs today and putting those in to fix the turn signals.

Haven't had time to do anything... In-Laws in town, work, just putting it off. I have noticed that my headlight still doesn't work.. BUT!!!!....
When I start my bike my taillight is bright and works fine but after about 10 seconds it will start to dim and after about 25 seconds it is out. When I press the turn signal button to the middle(cancel signal) the taillight come back bright and stays on, then fades. When I put a turn signal on, short delay (5 seconds) and then it starts working and my taillight is bright. (I have an aftermarket smoked LED Taillight and integrated turn signals...been like this for about 2 years). I am guessing that maybe the R/R is maybe going to bad and it is not drawing enough power.. I don't know. I will have time tomorrow to check it out. Any other advice would be helpful. Haven't gotten resistors/led relay, yet. |
'00 CBR 929 RR Electrical Issue - YouTube Video I made yesterday of the problem.... Headlight is still out and has been for a while. It would come on and then off, but now it just stays off.... I haven't had time to jack with it. made this video as I was leaving work.

i'm thinking that tail light unit may be failing. can you rewire it back to stock and see if it still does it?

Lighting is mostly on the same circuit. Anything freaking out could do funky things to other parts in the circuit.

sup trey its sounds like its your R/R you replace that and that doesnt work disconect one component at a time till the problem stops do you have a work shop manual to do a pin point test? its all about process of elimination

yes I have the manual... not much time this week or weekend... next week it looks like...
