Default Electical / turn signal gremlins...HELP!!!

I just took ownership of an 01 F4i on Friday. The previous owner had added Hotbodies flushmounts on the front, but had no signals on the back. I picked up a general set for the back, and they worked fine when I tested with the ignition on. But since I fired the bike up they won't work right. The right signals work fine until I turn on the left signal, then I loose both signals until I turn the bike off and re-start it. But I still only have the right signal again. I'll be taking a voltmeter to it tomorrow to try to find the problem, but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas.

i have same problem but worst.

Something's not wired up correctly. Thats what causes the problems. Get back with me if you find a solution.

I fixed my turn signals, but I really don't know what was wrong with them. All I did was re-wire them. The previous owner had just twisted the wires together and electrical taped around that. There were a few places where there was only about 3 strands touching, maybe the signals weren't getting enough power? Anyway I just restripped and crimped everything back together (I know soldering is better, but I plan on getting different turn signals in a couple weeks) and it works great now. I read about your problem SpiritBreaker, I don't know what to tell you. Is all your wiring stock? Did you do any modifications or maybe a previous owner had?
