Difference between F4 & CBR954 Valve Shims
is there any real difference between the valve shims between these two bikes? i looked up the hotcams kits for both bikes and they seem to be the exact same. the 2 kits even have the same part number
f4 shims - 3x7.48
954 shims - 3x7.48
the reason i ask is that i sent my cams out to be machined recently. i was told by the tech at web cam (where my cams are) that i should use the f4 shims to correctly shim once i get the cams in the motor, and i said fine.
well, when i was searching this and found out they're the same, i called them to ask them about why i should use f4 vs 954 shims to adjust my valves. the same tech wasn't there and the lady on the phone said that i should be able to just use the 954 shims since they measure the same - but she didn't exactly seem thrilled about my call
what do you guys think? i'm thinking i'm good to just go ahead and use 954 shims (since i already have a kit in my toolbox) and they're even the same part number for hotcams valve shim kits
