Default Diagnosing problems...

There are programs you can hook to your car to read the codes in the ECU to help you determine what the problem is...

Is there something like that, that I can get to help me figure out where to start with my bike problems?

this is my original posts about the problem...

Same problem as the 929 in the below thread, except my battery is fine.

The bike turns on and fires up, but immediately shuts off. First thought is Tip sensor, second maybe headlights?

Here's symptoms:

All the dummy lights come on, including the turn signals. (no flashing)
No headlights at all. (I understand no headlights and the bike wont turn on also)
Turn signals come on.
no fuel pump prim when turned to on position
When i hold the break and illuminate the dash and rear break, the bike wont fire up, only turns over.
There are no bad fuses

I am brand new to teh bike so im a little overwhelmed...It's my first bike, i dont really know where to start except the forums...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rob

On my f4i the ECU will flash codes. I'd imagine that the same feature is available on your bike. Find a service manual and see if it tells you how to put it into diagnostic mode.

Ok, you've got an F4i too, thought you had 929. Can someone help this guy out with the ECU procedure, and possibly show him where the online service manual is?
