Dent in Rim a problem?
Hey, I just went to the shop to look at my bike before I pick it up tomorrow. While looking it over I noticed my front rim had small dent in it, I dont really know if the rim is actually bent yet, but it didnt look bent. It just had a dent like when you curb check in a car.
The question I have for everyone, is is it safe to ride? The mechanic said it might cause some slight vibrations but not to worry unless it leaks air. What are yall's take? |
Depends on the "dent" size. I've got a spare front wheel that has a very slight impact bend, like you mention but it runs very well. The tire seats properly & holds air w/o any problem. I would run it on the street but not on the track.
