Default D.I.D Clip link

Good or bad? Anyone have experience with them? I really dont want to use one if anyone has had bad luck. But I also dont want to spend the money on the tools for a rivet link.

I searched like hell trying to fina a discussion on this and came up with nothing.

Thanks in advance

If I'm reading this right... you're asking if you can use a regular rivet gun from auto zone to link your chain back together.... in a word, NO.

That chain will come off and kill someone. Go to a bike shop and buy the right tools if you're working on your chain.

Only guys I know that use the clip style are the ones that drag. That way they can change sprockets and chain length fast. Ya always hear of the "friend" who died cause his clip fell off but honostly I've never known anyone to have a problem. I only use the rivet links because it's what I'm comfortable with and it only takes about 30 minutes extra.

Like JD said -- check it regularly to make sure the clip hasn't flown the coop and ya should be alright.

check it mang...
if you go clip...make sure the opening of the clip is toward the back. also put some high temp RTV sticky stuff on the back side so that it'll stick.
then check it ever so often.
