Hi Guys as posted in the content of an earlier thread I removed the cylinder liners from the block on my 600 fk 1989 by putting the block in the oven on full for about 45min and when removed ( with oven gloves on ) the liners just dropped out with sleight pressure however there is a o ring top and bottom on these and I am a bit worried about repeating the heat process for re assembly so as not to damage the new o rings so I was thinking of freezing the liners the day before and only lightly warming the engine block to insert them.
I haven't done this before and watched a youtube video by Alan Milliyard to see how it was done beforehand however there was no mention of re assembly so if anyone here has done this before I would appreciate the advice, cheers Al.

Yes with ones removed from another second hand part, there was non available new and only a few oversize pistons around requiring re bore etc with hardly any rings about. It's not ideal using second hand bits with different wear to the pistons I have but to be fair anything is better than what I had and after honing the bores everything looks good the worst that can happen is it seizes or smokes but then I'll swap over the entire top end if needs be but if you have stripped these bikes down there is hardly any wear normally in the engine it was just that this one had been stood with water/rain in one of the bores for a lot of years that it was so corroded.
Using the oven worked great for removal with only the lightest tap on a bit of wood required for removal and freezing the replacements and just warming the block required no effort to reassemble they fell in by hand.

Thank you very much.
One piece of advice: if you're putting bike parts in the freezer or oven, DON'T ASK FOR PERMISSION. It's better to get in trouble for a few days than to get an emphatic no.
The photos demonstrate why I replaced the rusty liners.
