cutting cf can
Hello everybody,
I'm planning to get a new CF exhaust for my F4i, probably a Two Brothers. I'm planning to cut it a little shorter but I have no idea how to do it or what I need for this... do any of you know more about this? Is there any special tool you need to use to cut carbon fiber? Where do you cut? At the midpipe end or at the back end? Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated. I am a little mechanically inclined so don't be afraid to get technical if you need to.
Thanks,
D.

Cut straight. Thats about all I can say. Anything that can cut fiberglass should be able to cut the CF. The only thing you would have to cut is the mesh material that is actually inside the muffler itself. I used an air powered cut off wheel to cut mine down. It took about 20 minutes start to finish along with re-riveting the end cap back on.
The MIVV has a deep, albeit neighbourhood friendlytone below 5500rpm, and completely changes pitch above that when you get stuck into it. IMHO, it sounds awesome when you're on the bike, and even better if you let someone else ride while you stand on the side of the road for a listen!
Needless to say, when going for a fang I keep the revs up a little bit...

Hey .. I cut my yosh trs pipe wich was carbon fiber...
I thought of using a skill saw... a dremel tool ... and a couple other things , but all the fiber dust would get all over the place..
So I used a hand saw .. and worked at it slowly to not create or put alot of fiber all over the place...
hope this helps.

Why not just buy a shorter carbon can in the first place?
