Well guys after a long wait I finally got the bike fixed. Instead of using smart advise about taking the bike to the shop I instead drove myself to fixing the bike myself. I must admit to those that said changing a clutch was pretty easy... well it is prettly easy. I can't say it was a five minute job though. Took me about an hour of cleaning inside the basket to get all of the gunk off the basket and what-not that had gotten burned off of the clutch disks it was pretty easy. I carefully took the bike apart taking pictures of everything making sure not to screw up. If anyone needs pictures or help for a venture of their own I'd be more than happy. Thanks for all of the advise. P.S. repair manual or at least printout of one is a must. I printed them off so not to ruin the book.

See, you ask for help you get it. Just have to be patient at times, we do all have other lives and jobs and whatnot ;). Glad your rides back up and running.

I was thinking of doing the same to my f4i only to upgrade to a Barnette kevlar kit I found. Thought $110 would be a small price to pay for smoother shifting. I've had some doubts about doing this in my garage but maybe I'm inspired...

Changing a clutch is no big deal in the garage. When I had mine apart I meant to take pictures but I was in too big a hurry to get the job done and get out riding. quil900 did promise to send me a disc with the pictures he took though, if I get them sometime soon ill post em up on my site to use as a reference.

I have a CBR600F2 and I need to pull out the clutch basket and get behind it. Did you do this? If so, how did you get the clutch center locknut off? Thanks for the help. Trying to put in a shift kit but can't get that locknut off!!!
