Default Choke

Since this if my first Honda, i'm trying to step up on my knowledge every chance I get. Who can tell me if Honda has always or what year/model was the automatic choke introduced on our bikes. My former Kawasaki had a manual choke and of course my '01 CBR 929RR has an automatic one which I think is sweet for warming up in the morning. Thanks in advance.

The choke ( fast idle circuit) came about when fuel injection did. In your case the 929 came out in 2000, My CBR1000RR has the same feature ( no choke lever) as I am sure more bikes do as well

I think 2000 was the first year FI was introduced on any CBR model. To my knowledge all carburated bikes have a manual choke. Saw a remote start on a FI bike the other day, was a neat concept, though, I dont know how useful it would be in the real world. It sure does get looks when a bike comes to life with no rider present though.

I have a 98 CBR f3 and I have a question from the responses to the previous posts. When I start my bike i put the choke on and as soon as it starts up i take it off. Is this what I am supposed to be doing or should I leave the choke on for a while and let the bike warm up before I take it off.

Thanking you guys in advance.

Yes...the choke allows you to warm the engine (as motorcycles run hot) before you take off as not to damage the engine.
