Default Chain snapped

the chain on my '97 F3 snapped during a hard take-off and as it came around, it snapped both bolts that attach the water pump to the engine casing. I'm in college and dont have the money to buy a new bike...anybody got any ideas on how to fix it? or is the bike totally ruined?

Should be able to drill a hole in the bolts and use an easy-out to remove them.

whoops...my first post wast real clear...the big problem is that pieces of the engine casing snapped off with the bolts, and so there's basically no bolt holes anymore

Ouch, not sure what to tell you on that one. Sounds like it's time to find another motor.

Find a local Welding shop, take it down to them and ask... it's hard to tell from the pics but it doesn't really look that bad. I've seen worse welded up and last, when done my a good welder.

take it to a marine repair shop that does prop/impeller work...they can heliarc (Aluminum Version of Welding) it and build it up so you can grind it down and re-drill and re-tap it....

Awfull feeling when that happens eh!. Back in 1970 (yep I know, shut it) I was toodling along to work on my trusty (crusty) CB250 when the chain snapped & wrapped itself around the rear sprocket, which then totally locked the rear wheel, but thanks to my fantastic riding skills (hung on for dear life) I crossed over two other lanes of traffic & came to stop in a gararge!!, which was of absolutely no use wots so ever, except for the phone call to work. after unrolling the chain, I was able to roll the two clicks toward the only bike shop for miles, the other two clicks where up hill. Moral of the story, lube your bloody chain!!! check it every time before you ride. that said, good luck.
