Default Centre stand 600f fitting

I’m probably the only person who wants to fit a centre stand, but I have my reasons. I have one, but not sure about the C plate and spring arrangements. Main bolt is through, and I’ve screwed in smaller bolt through C plate. So, my queries are..... the C plate is now tight and doesn’t move ? Surely it should ? There is a rod sticking out of small bolt, (8) looks like a spring should attach ? I have a heavy spring and slimmer spring (which I guess goes inside larger), but where do they attach ? Below is a parts diagram, it’s the same as I have. Any help would be appreciated ! Bike is 1999 CBR 600 fx.

@Bornagain Hello and welcome to the forum. Yes, that C component is supposed to move. I have fitted one to my wife's F3. I just can't get in a position in the garage in order to take a photo of it. I'm sure one of your fellow EU members will be able to explain. If I recall, the upper hole of the C plate #5 fits over the end of bolt #8. Spring 11 connects to the other end of the C and connects to the stand #3 on some protrusion, I just don't recall where. They don't put the stands on the US models. I wish it was at least an option. It's great for maintenance.

On the frame above the stand is a hook I have the larger end of the c plate on that then with the spring in the other end you have to pull hard with a stiff wire the spring downwards onto the stand I found with the stand in the up position the spring had less distance to go so in effect the c plate curves around the stand top look at your lower frame tube you should see a hook, all the best AL.

Thanks ! I’m wondering if the smaller spring attaches to that post along with the C bracket ? If you get a chance to look, that would be a massive help. Need the stand to put bike on a dolly. All the best.

Thanks. There is no hook on the frame, just a bolt (no 8) that protrudes out. I’ve seen that hook on the 1000cc hurricane. If hang C plate on that bolt protrusion, it seems a little insecure ?

the C bracket does hang on the bolt, the springs tension keeps it in place

Unfortunately I have not fitted mine yet due to Honda (bless them) having changed the lower mountings on the 2006 F4i. I will need to drill out the mounts and fit bushes to allow the tube (part # 6 above) to fit correctly
That said here is a pic i found

That’s a pic I found also, but when I did it that way the bolt locks C plate solid. From the way I do dirt described, it hangs on a protrusion on bolt, which this one doesn’t ?
