Default CCT niose? Can you describe it?

2004 F4i, bike runs great seems very solid. Has 5300 miles on it and is very clean.

Makes a noise when comming off the throttle at about 8K rpms...best I can describe is a "chirping" sound as the bike throttles down. Makes about 5 to 10 chirps as the bike goes from about 8500 to 6000 rpms and stops. Made a couple of chirps getting on the throttle once too. Almost sounds like a piston ring rubbing or something (even though I doubt thats what it is, but that thought popped into my head). I know this is vague but I am curious. Most people call the CCT a rattling and this wasnt a rattle. Any ideas would be appriciated. Thanks guys

It will sound sick at idle---- Like something is loose or rattling around. And the noise sometimes continues at cruising speeds. I never heard it above 7k RPMS when it when bad on my bike.

when mine was rattling aroudn it was around 4500-5800rpms. Sounds like you have something rattling around in your engine. WHich you kinda do the chain is gettin slack and hitting the guide i believe. I installed and ape and havent had a problem or adjusted it yet.

So this sounds like something different then. Any of you guys heard anything like this? I dont want to buy a $1500 problem. This bike has low miles but that doesnt always mean anything. Thanks for the help, and I'll check for a nest!! HA HA!!

I dont know how hard it is on the F4s, but the F2, its just two bolts come out, you take the old tensioner out, put the new one in, re install the bolts, set the chain tension and you're done.

That's the sound my chain made upon deceleration when it was completely wasted. 5300 miles on the chain seems young though. Check the slack in the chain and adjust and see if the noise disappears. Good luck.
