CBR1000F 1989 leaking after winter

Hi folks, went to take her out for the first time after winter storage and fuel was leaking out the bottom. Took the fairings off to take a look and caught this video. Imagine it’s the carbs that needs cleaning but would like some expert advice :)

That's a deluge, are you sure it's from the carb overflows or could it be from the petcock or a split pipe?

If it's from one of the carb overflows then try tapping that carb with a soft mallet to release the float.

It could be almost anything. You need to get to the actual source of the leak. It could be a fuel line that is dry-rotted, a rodent could have chewed through something, or anything else. I think you're going to need to break it down a bit more before you know for sure.

I haven’t a clue where it’s from to be fair mate but it’s only when running. I suppose it could be from a split pipe. It’ll be easier if I take the tank off I think to see won’t it?

that being said it only happens when the engine is on, does that rule out anything?

I’ll get working on that thank you very much. Assuming it’s not too hard to get tank off etc ? Should I drain the tank of fuel as a first point of call?

It rules out a split in the tank - it’s only happening when there’s a vacuum on the petcock so everything before that is OK.

Also, now the tank is off and there isn’t a way to run the engine to see the leak, how can I know for certain where it’s from? Worth taking carbs out of is that overkill for this stage
