Default CBR 600F3 Filter Assembly Rebuild - 17250-MAL-600

I have a 1995 CBR 600F3, the foam inside the filter assembly has disintegrated and is coming out. There is not replacement for this part being made anymore, nor can I find it online (17250-MAL-600). Does anyone know if I can simply crack this thing open and put dense foam in there? Any other suggestions?

No reason why not. I'd do it.

you could open it for sure and just take the foam out - it's just a baffle.

Or maybe this Nighthawk one would fit in the same space?

or this one from a whole range of 90's-2000's - you would need to blank off the port in your airbox as this one simply free vents.

I think better to put something like this in it. Easy enough to close with hot melt glue.
