Carb sync fail
 

Well i tried to sync my carbs:icon_doh:. I made a homemade carb sync tool and got everything started. They were kinda out of sync so i started to adjust them. I got 1 & 2 close together then i went to go do 3 & 4 and as i adjusted 3 number 1 shot way up and 3 went way down. I looked over at the tool and somehow air bubbles got into the tool:icon_shrug:. So there is a leak somewhere and i cant find it. So now m carbs are really out of whack.

What could happen if i rode it for a week waiting for my motion pro carb sync tool to get here?

Any help is appreciated.

This is the guide i followed to making the tool. There werent any air bubbles when i first started. It seems like once i turn it on and it runs for a few seconds they are pushed in from a connector. I have made everything as air tight as i can though.

I though it was maybe the vaccum connectors i was using that plug into the carbs but even if air was getting in from there it wouldnt be able tp push through the fluid to get in the middle of the tool.

It's not going to hurt your bike to run it for a while with it out of sync. It won't perform as well, but that's about it. Getting the Carb-Tune is a good idea. You'll have that tool around for many years.

Or partake of the Ebay Rent-A-Tool program. Aka, use the tool to sync it then Ebay it. Prolly end up only a couple bucks in the hole if you do.

Sounds like you need to get those fittings to seal, you can also build a "dry" sync tool with gauges, but it costs a bit more...

Ya im pretty happy i bought the carb sync tool. i cant wait till it gets here. Best thing to is that a few friends want to use it to sync their bikes to.

Now i think 5-10 bucks or a 6 pack should allow that :icon_beerchug:. lol

Got my tool yesterday and synced the carbs. Bike runs better but needs more adjusting.

Anyways the breather tube has stopped leaking gas. I had drained the tank and set it upside for about 2 days while i waited for the tool. I got the tank back on and now there are no leaks. I wonder what it could have been? Thanks for the help :icon_teeth:
