Default carb rebuild

what parts do you generally have to replace when rebuilding your carbs? this will be the first time i'll be taking apart a set of carbs, how long does this task usually take? if you have any other pertinent information please chime in.

the only thing you will need is lots of little tools and a gasket kit.. THATS IT! oh and Gum out carb cleaner.. (**** works wounders!) sence its a 4 banger your going to have to do 4 carbs..(duh) and i cant really tell you how long its going to take you because i dont know how good your are with your fingers.. it takes me about an hour to clean out my carbs on my triumph..but thats only a 3 cyclender..

-make sure you have a big open space with lots of good light.

-place a big garage towel over a big garage table.

-get comfy chair

-a good size garage bowl to dump the gas out of the carbs so you dont make a mess..

-lots of stupid little screw drivers

-hand size towels to fuge on the intake manifold(s) once you get the carbs out (4)

- and last but not least! Pay very close attention on were screws and trincets are coming from!

How old is the bike to start with????

If your overhauling the carbs I personally would go for a STAGE 1 dyno jet kit.
If its an F2 (as you didn't state model) these machines can be up to 16yrs old now, so your gonna have wear on the float needle valves and the jet needles, springs etc will all need replacing, & you get these in the kit, don't forget the gaskets too.

Be careful with the rubber diaphrams, give em a good check for small tears or pin holes too.
then all you need to do is set the carbs' up with a good set of Vac' gauges
