Default can someone help with my turn signals

i have a 95 900RR that i just bought. the bike has no turn signals in the front. i can see the wires for them. it does have the signals in the rear though. when i hit the turn signal switch, either way, nothing happens. the blinker on the cluster doesnt even flash. Any ideas where i should start. there is a relay somewhere im guessing?? if anyone could help it would be appreciated. im mechanically inclined but the electrical stuff gets me sometimes.

Hi. I would think that if you plugged in a set of front indicators, you will have completed the indicator circuit and all the indicators should work. I remember when I was into cars that if one bulb had gone the other one would flash double time and as soon as the offending bulb was replaced, normal indicator flashing resumed. However, if both front indicators are missing and not in the circuit, it could cause the problem you are having. Try fitting the front ones and see if it cures the problem? Best of luck!

Highway is right... you lost contact. Get some flushmounts and wire them in, all will be good.

so i hooked up some flush mounts in the front. still no good. they do light up but if i hit the turn signal to the left the right comes on and the left goes out and vice versa. does that mean the flasher is bad???? and the back signals are still doing nothing and i know they will only flash if working right.

You Should Probobly Start with the flahser it is located behind the seat in the irhgt rear of the bike i believe . . not wuite sure its a round discus looking thing with 2-3 prongs sometimes if you tap them and shake them around they will work . .i have a 98 cbr and i have no front signals but the rears still work . . but it also may be a fuse because normally with a flasher going bad or is bad you get full illumination of the signals with no fllashing. . . .there are many ways to trace the wiring . . .if fuse and everything good try a flasher first if that doesnt work get a test light and check powers and grounds at the bulb connection and the switch itself let me know if nothing works nd i can try to help you some more

thanks 87! im gonna find the flasher tomorrow and see if that will work. if not, im gonna replace it. a buddy told me i should get an aftermarket electronic flasher. said its prolly cheaper and controls the flash better with LED's. and it will also work with the reg bulbs too...not sure if hes right??

A flasher is a flasher none the less but with LEDs since its tiny little bulbs they do not require or draw to much i forget which but they will flash more rapidly

He's right. The reason LED signals cause it to flash at a faster rate is due to a safety feature built into the bike. When you have a bulb burned out it warns you by flashing that side at a faster rate, letting you know there's something wrong.

An LED uses much less current than a regular bulb and the bike 'thinks' there is a bulb out and goes into the rapid flasher rate. An electronic flasher relay will solve the problem. I use the one below on my bike. My front signals are regular bulbs and the rear ones are LED. It flashes at the regular rate and the specs claim it can handle up to 4 LEDs.

Electronic Flashers

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the motorcycle applications. I have the LF1-S-FLAT on my 08 1kRR. My stock wiring harness connector plugged right into it.

well, i found the relay or where it supposed to be. i had picked up an electronic one just to find that the *** who i bought the bike from had cut the relay out. i have three exposed wires. so i guess i have to find an old harness for my bike to get the negative side plug in to wire back up. the electronic relay only has two wires so idk what to do. i took back the relay until i can figure out what to do???? anyone got any ideas besides me finding an old harness that has that plug part???
