Default Can anyone help?

Hi... Im new to the site and a new 1995 honda cbr900rr owner and was wondering if someone might be able to help... The bike was running fine for about 2 months and then today it just died... i was riding home from work and i noticed that when i started to take off in first it felt jumpy and like it was gonna die... eventually it did, after sitting for a bit, it finally started again but was runnin real rough, like it wasnt getting enough gas and i had to rev it up just to keep it running... this def. sounds like a gas issue to me, but im not certain... now it sounds like it wants to start, but doest.... Maybe a fuel pump or something? Please guys, any help would be great ! thanks !

First things I have to ask is...

1. Do you have enough gas in the tank?

2. If so....is the fuel selector, (petcock) on reserve?

Hi, could be carb icing. Does it stall just after you've stopped and started to pull away? If so when the engine is warm, the fuel in the carbs freezes and blocks to the carbs up, the engine stalls and after a few minutes or however long heat soak from the engine melts it and it starts again. Get the carbs cleaned up or simple fix is to use pro fst in the tank, works a treat.

MAN I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 95 900RR......FIRST YOU NEED TO SEE IF THE FUEL PUMP IS
PRIMING WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ON...IF IT IS NOT
YOU MY HAVE A BAD FUEL CUT RELAY...IT IS LOCATED
UNDER THE SEAT. JUST MAKE SURE YOUR ARE GETTING POWER TO THE RELAY FIRST. IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTION JUST ASK...CAUSE IAM GOING THROUGH ALL THESE STEPS ALSO

I am too, i replaced the filter on my '95 900rr and went to start it (like everyone else, has gas and is on) but it wouldnt hit. Cranks fine, but nothing hits. Looked at my filter as it is clear, and saw no gas getting to the filter (again the petcock IS on). I ordered a new (to me, got from Ebay) fuel pump and am just waiting to actually receive it. Then going to try and start it again with that replaced. If that doesnt work, I am going to try the whole gravity fed thing i think, and test the other electrical stuff (relay, etc.). Just hope I can get my baby up and running soon, this 50+ degree weather is killing me to not be on a bike right now

Did you look at the suggestions in the post right above yours? Did you hear the fuel pump priming when you turned the key on? Is the engine kill switch in the correct position?

Also, the filter isn't installed backwards, is it? There should be an arrow on it to indicate the flow direction.
