Broken Fuel Pump Stud

TLDR: Can I safely run the bike without leaks missing one of the fuel pump studs?

So I was going to move the fuel tank and had the FPR line break. My fuel tank breather line has had an issue with a crack that kept my fills to 2.5 gallons before leaking. Since the tank was virtually empty I decided to remove the fuel pump and repair the breather line. Upon reassembly I over torqued the nut closest to the bottom. I tried to tap it out but that didn't help. The old stud is still in place. What options do I have besides buying a new tank(though I was planning on this option if the breather repair failed)?

There was a broken stud on one of my 954s. It didn't leak, so I never had a problem running with it. Check it when the tank is full.

A simple fix, if you wanted to go that route and have a metric tap set would be to grind the broken stud flush, center punch and drill it out slightly smaller than original stud diameter. Tap hole with same thread pitch as other studs (M5?) and use replacement stud from a hardware store (or cut down a metric bolt to length needed). Slot stud end (or use two nuts as a temp bolt head), add red loctite and tighten.
