hi, I am wanting to do a track day in the UK on my Fx99 and the track day provider requires a brake lever guard. I see a few online with different sizes. I thought it would be simple case of it screwing int to the thread that the bar ends screw into, but no, apparently you have to remove the internal bar weights and then fit a lever protector using an expanding bolt type affair. surely there have to be a bolt in one available to just replace the bar ends?
You can remove expander from lever guard. Then add spacer between factory nut inside bar out to lever guard. Similar to stub of bar-end weight that fits into bar. Much more secure mounting than expander wedge.

Thanks for this idea! Did a version of it this evening and kept the original bar weights inside the bar. worked well.
