Bought 8000K HID conversion for CBR1000
My friend yesterday was purchasing an HID light kit for his acura integra so I went along for the ride into Brooklyn, NY to go directly to the dealers House. He tested the lights for him and once I seen how nice they were I decideded to get a pair once I found out he had the H7 bulbs I needed. It came with everything I needed including mounts and double stick tape for $180 which is extremely cheap. Now...after hard hard hard times trying to squeeze the power box under the fairing, I've encountered another problem. My friend was doing the install, and he took out the old headlight and there is a clip with a screw that holds in the headlight. We cannot figure out how to put this back on the right way. I can't find my manual either so i'm **** outta luck. Does anyone know a website or that has any pictures showing how this clip is supposed to hold in the headlight?

Not sure, since I've never had the headlight apart. Hope this helps. Try here:

Sorry about that. Try the link... I just guessed at which 1000, maybe a different year would show it?
Good luck either way. |

alright, well if anyone else knows...it is a 2005 1000rr. both lights have the clips and my friend somehow removed them off both lights since we are cross running the ballistics to the opposite lights..

Not to burst your bubble, but you didn't need to ever take out that screw that holds that clip on. All you needed to do is push in the clip to release it from the catch on the top. Then it kind of springs down, allowing you to get the bulb out.
Just mess with it a bit, you'll eventually get it back on there. If you still can't get it, go to the dealer and ask to look at the way it looks on one of those bikes. I do know that I actually had to trim my HID bulbs when I installed them. Mine had squareish nubs sticking out that kept them from going all the way in, so I trimmed that black housing around the base of the bulb to match the roundness of the H7 stock bulbs. I couldn't get that clip around the bulbs as they were, that's why I had to trim them down a bit. Once I did, they fit perfectly. |
